Many thanks to Corner Cars for their understanding and help.A recent MOT failure (I was expecting it) turned into a taleof what they can do to help. Total transparency in what theyexplained. I must add that they actually talked through othermeans and providers for repair which would work out cheaperoverall - mainly down to the vehicle in question. This gave me both the satisfaction that the checks were 100%with second opinions (which they were), and that they are more than a for profit only company - customer service goes a long way!!
Being a student, which has saved for over 2 years for their first car - i really cant express how upset i am with this dealer.I work hard for minimum wage in fast food, needless to say how hard its been to save up the amount of money which i was conned out of here. After having the car for less than a week i had topped up the engine with around 2 litres of oil, rather worried about this i contacted the dealer owner who stated he thought it could be a SMALL leak on an engine switch sensor.i took the car to the garage, which is around 90 miles from where i live, for the owner to inspect the car and repair it. i informed him that since i contacted him, i had topped up the car with another litre of oil and there was a very loud squeak coming from the engine when it wasn't under stress (idling). He told me that he recognised the issue prior to selling me the car, however assumed that it was something minor, and not the rocker gasket (which it ended up being).Never the less, he replaced it and all was good, until the oil light came on once again during my drive home. The owner had told me that it could take a couple of days for the leak to completely seal, so i left it.several days later the leak was worsening, and there was plooms of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust. by this point i had spent more money on oil than i had on fuel.i once again contacted the owner and expressed my concerns, he basically threw a load of excuses at me and told me he'd take a look at it.upon arriving to the dealership a few days later, the first thing he said to me was "What do you expect me to do now?" in quite an aggressive manner, luckily i had my brother with me this time to help me out. My brother and I explained that we would like a full refund and he'd have the car back. He refused to refund anything back to me, baring in mind i had given him over a year's worth of my savings to him, for basically a scrap car. His aggression continued and he accused me of lying about the amount of oil i had put into the car (he also stated that it's normal for a MODERN car to use several litres of oil a week), told me that the car definitely was not burning oil (which is the blue smoke), stated that the car just had a little bit of 'wear and tear', and then accused me of being a boy racer and not looking after the car. Even though he's admitted in the past that i am one of the best young drivers he has met...after he fixed the broken horn on the car, i picked it up and drove it to a relative's house nearby, on my journey the car began to sound like a diesel car and a loud hissing noise was coming from the right of the engine. but at least the horn worked right? (for now).because myself and my brother weren't sure what the leak was, we deemed it unsafe to drive the 90 miles back home, and it was left at my relative's house until we could sort it out.We organised a purchase inspection report on the car, the mechanic confirmed the issues which i had raised to the dealer and said that he would have known what the issues were to fix. the mechanic emailed me a report of his findings, giving the car an overall score of ***26 OUT OF 100*** and said most cars in a scrap yard would score higher. Extremely upset with my experience, i took legal action against the car dealership, and shortly got a full refund. The car ultimately blew up on me, and had to be towed back to my house. i had the car looked at recently by a local mechanic, he said that the head gasket is completely gone, the piston rings are virtually non-existent and should have not been offered for sale in the first place. My first car, which i saved for over 2 years, is now on its way to the crusher, after owning it for 2 months.Overall i've been conned out of thousands of pounds, given awful customer service, been belittled, and even gained a new hobby of collecting empty oil bottles (I have quite the collection now). But I guess 'that's just wear and tear'.The dealership has been reported to Trading Standards, I have been more then happy to assist them with their inquiries.
Was rubbish wont let us take the car back dont buy of corner carsRUBISH!!!
Brilliant service and great staff
Bought a vauxhall astra from here in february 2015. I WILL NEVER FORGET!!! Car wasnt fit for purpose as next day engine management light came on. Took it to a auto electrician and said it had an ecu problem. Cost 300 to fix. Was kicking myself as when i looked up other reviews of the place other people had simular problems and they never answered the phone when unsatisfied customers were ringing them back. Its a long drive for me, if it wasnt that far i would of drove back and demanded money back. If they dont take them to court most car businesses like this are always changing their names because of bailiffs coming to excute a writ. AVOID!!!
