Visited for a meeting on Tuesday 11 September 2018. I parked in the nearby Asda car park as the Salopian Star does not have a car park. The way in was up a set of steps and I don't know if there is disabled access at the rear of the building. The main room is in an L shape with the bar on the left as you enter and a larger space running across the width of the Salopian Star behind the bar. The bar has three real ale handpulls serving pale / bitter real ales at a brilliant price. Friendly and welcoming staff make it a traditional basic pub with a pleasant atmosphere.

No airs and graces, just a good regular pub.
It's an old local pub. Karoke on Sundays. Domino's on Wednesdays. Poker on Thursdays and Darts every other Monday. Doesn't do food but they don't tend to mind if you bring your own food in. All the ales are brewed just down the road, in Newport (not the big one). Cheap too.Background music tends to be 60s/70s.Has an outdoor patio area round the back.
